Wonderful Town - Lowry
Ruth (connie Fisher) and her sister Eileen, hit the Big Apple in this hugely entertaining adaption of Leonard Bernstein’s score. The audience is enchanted by the Halle, under Mark Elder, in Braham Murray's production (Royal Exchanges Artist Director).
Set firmly in 1930's Greenwhich village it tells the story of Ruth and Eileen moving to Manhatten and shows you their youth, freshness, life and loves.
This is really fun production including an almost racuous Conga, where connie demostrates her gymnastics, and even a few lines from Mark Elder himself, in a dodgy american accent...
I would really recommend this to anyone it has been extended until the 21st April.
