Peru Perdu launch Sunday Roast

With the recent arrival of a Sunday Lunch menu at this Peruvian inspired restaurant, Canal St Online was invited to sample and to  provide a frank review of the whole experience.

Here is what we thought;

Both of us decided to forgo a starter and instead plumped for mains and a desert as our 2 course option.

Lunch was fantastic. The beef, sourced in Uruguay,  was excellent and cooked perfectly to our taste.

The accompanying vegetables were also excellent with individually gratinated broccoli spears nicely crunchy and very tasty  and the roast potatoes were perfectly fluffy.

The parsnips too, always difficult to perfect, were also excellent and the gravy was plentiful, with the promise of extra by request.

The Chicken choice was similarly sizeable and equally tasty (we tried a little of each others) and again was accompanied by plenty of vegetables and a Floret Yorkshire Pudding.

Dessert was again shared and we chose the Cheescake with Meringue topping.Very rich and very yummy.

The wine list here is limited but good and we took a punt on a Riesling from Chile. It proved to be a good choice, and very different to the Austrian one we sampled later at the bar – which was also good but had a bit more flint in it.

Service at Peru Perdu is always friendly and even the Head Chef dropped by the table when passing to say hello and to check we were happy.

A nice touch.

Price is £16 per head, £17 when beef is chosen.Great value for the quality served.

Corona Virus aside, do go.

Remember too that the Canal St Card is always welcome here and at the bar at all times.

Information about it’s location at The Cotton Factory and the menu are available here
