Annies

Annies

Annies is tucked away between Cross Street and St Anne’s Square at 5 Old Bank Street, underneath the Royal Exchange. It’s been here for years and has options for all tastes (including vegan and gluten free) and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus a substantial afternoon tea. A pre-theatre dinner option has recently been introduced, roasts are available on Sundays, and there’s even a private dining room.

The menu is extensive with some firm favourites (cheese & onion pie, cottage pie, hotpot) and some more imaginative ones (like steak, chicken and chorizo salad or spicy vegetable dumplings). Afternoon tea can be enhanced with Prosecco or Champagne.

The service was friendly and attentive without being too obtrusive, and prices are reasonable – especially so after the Canal Street card discount.

It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail (or two) and/or for relaxed dining, the afternoon tea offering is also impressive plus, it’s extremely convenient if you’re attending a performance at the theatre upstairs with their pre-theatre menu.
