Afternoon tea at the Plaza

I'm sure the good people of Stockport know about The Plaza. I was invited by a friend to sample the Afternoon Tea in the upstairs restaurant.

Going in from the rain and into this fabulous Art Deco building is a real treat. There is a lift to the restaurant for those who require it. It is like stepping back in time, in the best possible way.

There is a choice of size of Afternoon Tea, depending on your appetite. We chose the biggest, well, why wouldn't you.

Served on a traditional 3 tier plate rack together with beautifully matched crockery at a cost of £15.50, it is worth every penny. Choose coffee if you prefer.

The staff are wonderful as is the ambience.

There are other choices on the menu if Afternoon Tea isn't for you, including cute 'Babycham style' glasses of Champagne.

So glad that I have found this gem. I will be going back.
