Worker Bee Markets dates for 2019
Worker Bee Markets Bring Artisan Makers to Local Communities
As part of a commitment to local communities, Worker Bee Markets expand their reach to include regular events in more areas this year.
The Worker Bee Markets brand was established last year with a number of successful regular events in Bramhall and Heald Green, a one-off market in Gatley and Christmas events in Didsbury and Manchester City Centre. Hard-working Stockport-based small business owner Clare Simpson is building on her success by committing to three regular bi-monthly markets at the heart of local communities.
This is an opportunity to bring together local makers and producers with local people who want to support small businesses without having to travel far to buy quality fresh produce, handmade gifts and crafts, homeware and jewellery. Regular traders will include fresh coffee from our Hazel Grove vendor Azulito Coffee, home-baked cakes from Bramhall-based Lemon Drizzle Tea & Cakes, vegan and beeswax food wraps from Poynton’s Beesweet and Bumble, gourmet sausage rolls from Cheadle Hulme’s Cheshire Bakehouse and Stockport-inspired art from Kate O’Brien and Lucy Burgess. Worker Bee Markets champion and celebrate local talent and will introduce lots of new talent at these events. They will also have dog training taster sessions at the first Bramhall event run by local small business Good Dog.
‘In 2018, the response to the events was incredible and heart-warming’ said Bramhall-based Clare Simpson. ‘Customers were walking, cycling, pushing buggies to our markets. There is real local community vibe and you can tell that traders and customers alike enjoyed the atmosphere. The hope is that this year, we’ll bring more markets to more local communities around South Manchester and Cheshire.’
The first events of 2019 will be in Bramhall on Sunday 17 March at 3rd Bramhall Scout Hut on Linney Road SK7 3JW, in Gatley on Saturday 30 March at Bethany Church in the centre of the village and in Heald Green on Easter Monday 22 April at Nixon’s Farm Shop off Bolshaw Road.
