Human First due to open in Manchester

Keri Blue is a queer, non-binary barber (they/them) from West London. Since coming out, Keri spent their life experiencing discrimination. After waiting in a barbershop in Brighton to get a short haircut, they were told they couldn’t have it done because they weren’t insured to do Keri’s hair. Leaving the barbershop angry and humiliated, Keri decided at that moment to do something about it. The saying goes, “if you want something done right, then do it yourself,” and Keri did just that. They enrolled at London School of Barbering and began to master their craft, putting in the graft at various barbershops throughout. Once qualified, Keri worked for names like Ruffians and Jonny’s Chop Shop, and was attracted to places that did things a little different. They continued development under Senyo at Homme XY to master afro hair barbering, before eventually moving to Manchester. It wasn’t until becoming a barber that Keri noticed the sheer level of discrimination surrounding gender identity within the hair and beauty industry. They began Hair Has No Gender during the throes of the pandemic in an attempt to eradicate this and the stigma that still comes with being trans.

Keri specialises in short hair particularly combination of clipper fades and scissor cuts, loves texture work.

Callum identifies as non-binary hair dresser (he/they) originally from Banbury, Oxfordshire. Callum grew up in a small town where, he faced discrimination. Callum witnessed others being discriminatory, racist and homophobic as Callum stood out from the crowd and didn't fit into the world, Callum wanted to make an effort to impact and change that way of life. During Callum's time In Banbury, the voice of social change and equality grew louder, with the idea of changing the world head by head. Callum drives the importance to every professional in hair industry to have an understanding of all communities, cultures and a sense of change for the better.

Callum began specialising in curly and afro-textured hair due to the division within the hair industry for this hairstyle, sparking again Callum's sense of change and equality.

Callum lives by the words "inspire change" as Callum felt that people didn't want to understand people who are different.
