Facebook live HIV tests with The Sunday Boys
The Sunday Boys, Manchester's Male Voice Singing Sensation, supported national testing week by pairing up with LGBT Foundation to offer their choir members the chance to have a free sexual health check, including HIV tests, recently.
The Sunday Boys have over 80 members and know that sometimes its not easy to get tested regularly in a location you feel comfortable to do so. By offering members the chance to have tests in partnership with an LGBT friendly organisation during national testing week, members were able to look after their physical health along with their voices.
There is sadly, still stigma around HIV and sexually transmitted infections; being part of a supportive community and group The Sunday Boys are proudly saying they can come together to support each other to stay healthy whatever your status.
The Sunday Boys also used Facebook live for a couple of the tests, in order to help raise awareness for National Testing Week.
The Sunday Boys are Manchester’s male voice sensation; an unauditioned, inclusive choir that rehearse on Sunday evenings for gay men and their allies. We sing the songs together that we love as individuals. They come together to sing and in doing so, we meet new people and build great friendships. We don’t mind who you fancy or how you identify, if you would love to sing with a great sounding choir (even if you haven’t sung before) and are up for a challenge, then join us.
Check out their website where you can get in touch, book them for events, hear what we sing or become a friend and support them?
ALSO JUST ANNOUNCED..
The Sunday Boys will be taking to the cobbles on Sunday 17 December to entertain the crowds with carols, well wishes and festive cheer! It's free to attend, simply come along, support the choir and even join in.
Round your weekend off over a drink and some singing with the lovely Sunday Boys
