Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre

Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre

When you're told, by a ticket seller, that tonight's performance is 'The most fun you can have in our back room with socks for only a Fiver' you are left wondering what is going to happen...

And so it was last Saturday at the Lass O'Gowrie when we saw the Youtube.com sensation that is the 'Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre' and so am I.

If, like me, you have watched the Youtube videos, seen and heard the running jokes that are so prevalent in the show, seeing the 'Socks', as they are known by those, well probably 5 people, in the know, is going to get you chortling and groaning at the same time.

Tonight the Socks performed 'Boo Lingerie', a clever title, but there are hints that it should have been called 'The Socky Horror Show'. Certainly it appears that that title was thought of after they had printed the flyers...

'Boo Lingerie' takes a look at classic horror literature and brings the stories to life within a small stage, that rocks rather alarmingly, performed, or in fact mostly argued about, by the 'Socks' themselves.

The show is an hour of silly gags, disagreements and includes clever rewrites of popular songs all focused on the horror theme. The show is a great deal of fun, laugh packed and the ad-libs alone make it worth seeing.

If you get a chance to see the 'Socks' perform just buy a ticket and go. It really is the most the fun you can have in a small back room with socks...

I would also recommend them on Youtube and in particular the Sock's Lady Gaga routine. Don't forget to check out the outtakes too...
