New look and new menu at Chez Mal

New look and new menu at Chez Mal

October 2022.

A visit to Chez Mal in Malmaison, Manchester is always special, for both first-time visitors and long-time fans. After their recent refurbishment of the bar and restaurant areas we had to pop for a visit, plus there's a completely new food and drink menus to try.

Small plates are a trend we just love and here is one of the best, we chose a simple,  but passionate combination of an Italian mix of olives, salt and pepper calamari with a simple and tasty grilled tomato hummous with sesame flatbread for our appetisers. The portions sizes are very generous.

Chez Mal has always had a reputation for it's variety of steaks which translates to the burger options, we ordered the classic Mal burger and a black bean vegan option too as our mains.

The meat burger was cooked medium rare with, lip smacking juices, providing a perfect addition to classic appetisers, and the non-meat option came with a bright flavour which is perfect for a Vegan option.

As always, one of our group is "dairy free" so recommendations are needed, and the team handled it simply and efficiently.

Service at The Mal has always been praised and expertly delivered by the team, led by manager Ingrida who creates a splendid atmosphere.

Drinks are super, and we were offered a pre dinner Gin and Tonics, recommended by our server. To go with our mains a refreshing Provençal Rosé, Domaine Vieille Tour, France was our choice and a little fun trio of Negroni's to finish off our evening.

As we all love a great night out, there is a super collection of promotions running with my favourite offer 'PARTY IN BURGER CITY’, with details here

As one of the the long standing LGBTQ and/or restaurant for Canal St Card  holders, but then many of you know this already. allies, The Mal also offers 20% off each visit to bar

The new colour scheme is bright and stylish with several pieces of unique art around the walls, and we highly recommend you come down to see the changes no matter if you're a regular or a newbie you’ll love it.
