Pride Games has details of this years LGBT led, multi-sport event open to all. Each year there is a programme of competitions and taster events designed to appeal to men, women and those who just want to give it a try!
Taster events are 7th-12th Sept 2008.
Youth Games are 3rd-14th Sept 2008.
Tournaments are planned 12th-14th Sept 2008.

Pride Sports is an entrepreneurial community driven organisation, with a focus on annual LGBT multi sports events and year round capacity building for LGBT sports groups and facilities. Pride Sports aims to increase participation in sporting activity by lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transsexuals along with the wider community, whilst raising awareness of and challenging homophobia in sport. Pride Sports encourages enthusiastic involvement from key supporting partners enabling access to a wide complementary range of skills and influence to achieve these aims.
Northern Wave Swimming Club is run entirely by wonderful volunteers from its membership for the LGBT community and friends. The club provides a safe environment with a broad appeal to many people who would not other wise socialise and encourages healthy lifestyles all levels of ability. It offers casual swimming, fun water polo and competitive swimming.
Village Manchester Football Club
Formed in 1996, we are a Gay Men's football club with ambition and commitment towards providing all players and supporters with a competitive, yet fun approach to the beautiful game. We are based in Manchester, United Kingdom & meet up every week for training. We compete in local and national leagues and also tour on a regular basis. Northern Aces Tennis Club consists of a small pool of players of roughly equal standard (modest competence, plus one or two club standard players), who meet on Saturday afternoons throughout the year to enjoy a hard but fun game and social intercourse.
Manchester FrontRunners is organised by a group of people who love running. The Club is open to all and invites all levels of ability - run, jog, race walk or simply improve your fitness. It's also a great way to meet new people too!

Manchester Stingers WFC is a football club run for and by women, welcoming all women, regardless of age, ability, race and sexuality. The squad consists of approximately 24 registered players, 15 of which play league matches on Sundays. We are a socialable group of girls and we are always looking for new players and supporters to get involved with the club.

We are a badminton club based inManchester. While our members are predominantly gay, lesbian or bisexual, we are open and welcoming to everyone. All that we ask isthat our members can play badminton to a decent level and are committed to improving their standard of play, to playing competitively and wantto have fun along the way.
Many of our members compete in the gay badminton tournaments which take place throughout Europe each year and Northern Flight run the badminton tournament for the yearly Manchester Pride Games.

Gay Bikers Motorcycle Club (GBMCC). Our members in the North West and North Wales area are responsible for entering bikes in the Manchester Parade and running the club stand during Pride
The North West and North Wales area is one of our most active regions for the club in the UK and probably has some of the most dedicated and enthusiastic members to run events like this as well as organising bike runs, weeks and weekends away and a regular round of social events around Liverpool and Manchester.

Ludo
Last weekend Manchester Aquatic Center hosted the Swimming British Masters Championships long course where swimmers from Northernwave competed against top class swimmers from the UK. Northernwave is a swimming club based in Manchester for Lesbian and Gay community and friends in the Greater Manchester area and beyond.

At this event, Ludovic Otterbein who started swimming for Northernwave 4 years ago swam at his best. Finishing 7th and 8th on the 50m and 100m freestyle events, he has reached the rank of number one in the northwest in his age group on those distances, and is ranked 10th and 14th at national level.

Ludovic swims every day in the morning at the Aquatic Center and with Northernwave twice a week. He says: “The club is fantastic, it is creating a perfect environment to train as a gay swimmer and to make friends. My coach, Rob Ward, is extremely talented and half of my success this weekend is due to his high level coaching.”
