WLMP raise funds

WLMP raise funds

Tony Cooper of Via announced on WLMP:

"So we raised £405 last night and I will top that up to £500... the money is going to the following: £300 is winging its way as we speak to Pink Triangle Theatre who do so much to combat Homophobia and work within schools and the community and I believe will be using the cash to help fund DRY (non-alcohol) meetings for LGBT people.

£200 is going to Sackville Gardens Friends Association Official to help fund community book boxes within Sackville Gardens so when you take your books to read in the gardens you can leave them for others to read afterwards so helping make the gardens a true community space again".

Paul from Pink Triangle Theatre has announced "we're setting up a dry social session for LGBT people who would rather, or actually need to avoid pubs and clubs etc. A place where we can meet twice a month, with other LGBT people. Watch movies or documentaries, discuss issues, and generally socialise.

This will be based at The Arts Hub, a newly refurbished community centre in Failsworth, exactly halfway between Oldham and Manchester, so able to serve people in all areas. The address is 1 Ashton Rd West, Failsworth, M35 0EQ.

The LGBT Sessions will take place on the first and third Friday of each month, with our launch session on Friday March 7th. The session will run from 7pm to 9.30pm, and all are welcome".

Great effort by all involved..Well done.
