OUR GAY VILLAGE IN BLOOM

On the back of the launch of the VBA ‘Our Village’ campaign; Manchester’s Gay Village has been entered as a neighbourhood competitor in the RHS North West in Bloom competition. 

As a part of the RHS Britain in Bloom, the North West in Bloom competition this year celebrates 50 years. A competition that encourages the improvement of our surroundings through the use of shrubbery, flowers and landscaping and promotes the maintenance of a sustainable, clean and litter free environment it is the perfect opportunity to reinforce and illustrate the positive benefits of the VBA 'Our Village' message.

Village Business Association Chair, Jackie Crozier said: ‘I am thrilled to be able to say that Manchester’s Gay Village is an entrant in the RHS North West in Bloom competition. The launch of the ‘Our Village’ brand was the initial step in reviving the area and for the village to now be associated with a such a prestigious competition that aims to convey a similarly positive and inspirational message is something we at the VBA are extremely proud of.’

On 4 August 2014 at 11.00pm the judging will take place, starting in Sackville Gardens and moving throughout the village. We’re calling for all VBA businesses to ensure their hanging baskets are watered and looking healthy and beautiful so we can show our best bloom!
