Very Victorian at Via
It was one of the biggest police raids in Victorian England. It was the UK’s Stonewall. And it happened in 1880! But why was it covered-up?
Three ambitious, original dramas by Ric Brady and Stephen M Hornby will present a raid on a Victorian drag ball, a police conspiracy and a court trial to rival Jeremy Kyle.

Elements of the fancy dress ball will be recreated at Via, on Canal Street in a themed night of entertainment. Audiences can mingle with the fancy dress ball attendees, and watch them sing and dance to Music Hall tunes. The evening will climax with a spectacular police raid.

‘A VERY VICTORIAN SEX QUIZ’
Do you know what a 'pose plastique' is? It's got nothing to do with rubber.
The First National LGBT History Festival invites you to a pub quiz like no other: a historical sex quiz. LGBT Historian, Jeff Evans, will be delving into the steamy history of sex to find questions that both challenge and offend. Quiz master supremo, and star of Away from Home, Rob Ward, will be asking the questions at Via on Canal Street.
Come along to Via on Canal Street at 8pm on 10th February. Tickets can be reserved here. The entrance price is £5 per person and a mystery special prize will be awarded to the winning team. A free drink and nibbles will be provided by Via.
