Tourism Ireland - LGBTI Campaign

Tourism Ireland has launched a special campaign around LGBTI travel, following the result of the gay marriage referendum last week.

The country will look to attract same-sex couples for weddings, honeymoons and beyond in markets such as the US, Australia and Germany.

To kick things off, the organization released a video of a same-sex couple getting hitched, named 'Ireland Say I Do.'

Ireland's first lady of drag Panti Bliss makes an appearance in the video.

Niall Gibbons, the Tourism Ireland CEO, has commented: 'We know that in New York when it was legalized, the spend just in the first year on weddings and honeymoons was $250m. Of that, nearly $20m was in city and state taxes.'

He added: 'So, there is a market there. It's very much in its infancy and this [campaign] is very much dipping out toe in the water.'
