Strictly Wheels wow BGT

Britain's Got Talent sensation Paula Moulton has revealed how wheelchair dancing has turned her life around – and helped her shed FOUR stone.

Disabled Paula, 41, and partner Gary Lyness, 39, from Manchester, wowed Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams on a recent show with their act Strictly Wheels, dancing to Alicia Keys’ Empire State Of Mind.

Having been in a wheelchair for eight years since contracting MRSA and septicaemia after being admitted to hospital with pneumonia 17 years ago,Paula said “MRSA damaged my pelvis, my lower spine, hips and femurs. I can stand but I can’t walk. It left me with a phobia of hospitals – I had to have counselling.”

Growing up as a tomboy, Paula admits she never thought of herself as a ballroom dancer. “I started dancing two years ago. I’d never danced before I was in a wheelchair – well, I did six months as a kid but got thrown out of ballet, I was that bad.”
