Chief Executive Steps Down

Manchester Pride announces that John Stewart has stepped down from his role as Chief Executive of one of the leading LGBT events in the UK.

During his tenure, there have been some notable high spots, such as the Supersonic event at Manchester Airport's Concorde Hangar and the evolution of the Big Weekend with its new Dance Arena.

Vicken Couligian, Chair of the Trustees of Manchester Pride said “The Board would like to thank John for all his efforts. We are looking to develop Manchester Pride and build on its recent achievements and wish John every success in his future career.”

John Stewart said, “I'm proud to have worked for Manchester Pride and believe it can go from strength to strength. I'm looking forward to new challenges and wish everyone well for the future.”

Mark Fletcher will take the position of Interim Director with immediate effect. Mark has worked with the organisation since 2004 in a freelance capacity, as its Sponsorship Manager.

Mark will be supported by Darren Adams as Deputy CEO, Kieran Bussoopun and Michael Lever. http://www.manchesterpride.com/
