SELL OUT, STAR STUDDED EVENT MORE THAN DOUBLES FUNDRAISING TARGET FOR LEADING LGBT CHARITY

Out on the Roof, the charity fundraising event in aid of The Albert Kennedy Trust held last night at Manchester’s Great John Street Hotel has been deemed a huge success by organisers. The event, a complete sell out, was attended by glittering celebrity line up that included Coronation Street Star, Daniel Brocklebank as well as Waterloo Road Star, Heather Peace.

Out on the Roof has been supported by event management consultancy, Leopold Marketing and Barclays Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT), staff network – Spectrum and through close working with the Albert Kennedy Trust the organisers have raised over £6,833. For the charity – more than doubling the £3,000 target set.

This is the first time that Leopold Marketing and Barclays Spectrum have joined forces to support a LGBT fundraising activity. The event sold out within a matter of days of going on sale and feedback last night from ticket holders and celebrities suggests that this will be the first of many similar events to be held in the future.

Leo Platt, director Leopold Marketing said:

“ It has been a huge pleasure to work with Barclays Spectrum and The Albert Kennedy Trust to put on an event that has stimulated such significant ticket sales and fundraising activity. Out on the Roof has been a massive amount of fun to organise but above all we are delighted to be making such a positive contribution to the Albert Kennedy Trust. Darren Sellers, Barclays Spectrum Northwest Lead said:

“ Wow what an evening. Our inaugural Out on the Roof event has lived beyond our expectations and we are really grateful to all of those that have supported us. The Great John Street Hotel was the perfect backdrop for the event, and the entertainment and support provided by our celebrity guests was nothing short of wonderful.

Tim Sigsworth, CEO Albert Kennedy Trust said:

“I would like to thank Barclays Spectrum for hosting a wonderful fundraiser, as part of their on-going commitment to AKT. Many thanks also to Leopold Marketing who kindly gave pro bono support to create a fantastic event.  The evening was a great success and we were very proud and pleased to share the evening with so many of AKT existing supporters as well as many new friends.
