Senior womens team
We are please to announce the next stage of our club’s development, the formation of a senior womens team.
Established in 1999, the Village Spartans Rugby Union Football Club is a gay friendly and inclusive rugby club which welcomes adult (18+) players and supporters from all backgrounds, regardless of age, experience or sexual orientation.
The Club is based in Sale, Manchester, with its own clubhouse and rugby pitches including a flood lit practice pitch. Our current players come from all over the North-West of England. The men's section currently has two teams. The 1st team play competitively in a league, the 2nd team play several friendlies a season.
The club was established to encourage gay people to enjoy the sport and to introduce new and potential players to rugby as well as providing a place for more experienced players to play rugby in a competitive environment.
The trial day will be followed up with regular training and coaching and mixed touch rugby team events on the 11th April, and in a summer touch rugby league. The club’s long term aim is to form a competitive women’s 15 a side team playing friendlies first, then entering a women league to play competitive games.
Every women deserves to have the opportunity to be healthy, happy and herself.
The Village Spartans ‘ a good place to play rugby’.
