The Rainbow Connection - Be Part Of It!

Be part of it! International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) takes place every year on 17th May, and this year The LGF is planning a number of ways to mark this important date in our calendar, to raise awareness of hate crime against lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGB&T) people, and encourage reporting of hate crime.

This year, we’re launching four initiatives for IDAHOBIT as part of our campaign ‘The Rainbow Connection.’ Why not be a part of it? We’re asking you to dust off your rainbow flags and fly them proudly over the weekend of 16th-19th May; get into the kitchen in our joint project with Village Bakers ‘Bake The Rainbow, Share The Rainbow; come along to the now annual Hate Crime Vigil in Sackville Gardens on 17th May; and to use our brand new Hate Crime reporting web-app, which will launch in time for IDAHOBIT.

You can get involved in one, two or even all of these activities for IDAHOBIT 2014, and you can find out more below.

You can also make a difference and help continue the work that we do to support LGB&T people who have been victims of hate crime by texting ‘FLAG14’ and the amount you wish to donate (e.g. ‘FLAG14 £5’) to 70070 or by visiting www.lgf.org.uk/donate/

For more information on how you can get involved visit: lgf.org.uk/IDAHOBIT
