Queerchester Exhibition
This Summer Manchester see's an exciting opportunity for LGBTQ Manchester artists, photographers and performers is opening up at Queerchester. An Exhibition where a collaboration of innovators will run a unique arts festival, including a visual exhibition, in a new venue during the annual Gay Pride celebration.
Queerchester features displays on selected days from 15 August to 31 August in Picadilly Plaza.
Via Fossa is the first venue supporting Queerchester with a string of fundraisers and shows, kicking off on Wednesday 4 June with the Pop Art fundraiser.
Among the billed acts are acoustic performers The Dead 20s, a set by singer and songwriter Martin Cooper, premier drag queens Misty Chance and Lee Star, while scene idols Liquorice Black and Violet Blonde will pose for a punter’s Art Battle.
We hope that this fund rasing event will appeal to people from across the city, not just the LGBTQ community will come along to the fundraiser to support the August event.
Elle Wiggins, the Village Community Organiser, says:
“The Queerchester exhibition is an exciting opportunity to give artists and the vibrant LGBTQ community a place to exhibit, sell, auction or donate their work for charity to improve the Village. We hope people will contribute by showcasing their talents through art, performance, their memories and history. We call out to the incredible people out there and ask you to get involved.”
