Recently Launched Pride To Be Opens Afflecks Palace Store

As same-sex marriage became legalised last month, recently launched gay and lesbian gift and greeting card company, Pride To Be, has expanded onto the high street, officially opening its doors at Manchester’s iconic Afflecks on Saturday 3 August.

Aimed at filling a large gap in the market for elegant gifts and greeting cards for the same-sex community, Pride To Be was founded by married lesbian couple, Lorraine and Sara Donnelly in March 2013.

Since its inception, the couple have continued a programme of heavy investment, which has seen its cards range developed and the introduction of a new line of gifts including plates, mugs and t-shirts, all designed and made in the pairs’ Afflecks Palace shop.

As all products are made on site, Pride To Be also offers a personalisation service to customers with a specific design requirement.

Co-Founder and Director, Lorraine Donnelly, comments: "We are thrilled to have officially opened our store in Afflecks Palace as it represents our investment into the business, and our ambitious growth plans for the next 12 months. Along with our store opening, we have worked hard to enhance our product offering, and our new gifts range is already proving popular amongst the gay and lesbian community."

"This year has been monumental for LGBT communities, with the legalisation of same-sex marriage, so we are delighted Pride To Be has launched during the same year, enabling us to share in this historical period, and really meet the needs of those who are now able to get married, which has been our core purpose since we launched four months ago."

As well as its shop in Afflecks Palace, customers are still able to purchase Pride To Be products from its online store, www.pridetobe.co.uk. Afflecks Palace opening hours are 10.30am-6pm, Monday – Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturday.
