Pride launches annual chamber music series
Manchester Pride is launching its upcoming annual Chamber Music series from Monday 22 to Friday 26 August, at the Cosmo Rodewald Concert Hall, Manchester University from 1pm.
The Chamber Music series is now in its fourth consecutive year, celebrating LGB composers, combining internationally renowned performers and young local talent.
This year's series includes performances by the Iranian-born harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani, acclaimed pianist Martin Roscoe, baritone Geof Dolton and the exciting and vibrant Manchester Pride Ensemble. There's also another world première from Manchester Pride's own composer-in-association, Marc Yeats, which will be performed by flautist Kevin Gowland and violist David Aspin on Tuesday 23 August.
The series' curator, Les Pratt said: "Manchester Pride Chamber Music is unique in providing an outlet for classical music lovers at an LGBT Pride event. It brings musicians from all over the world together to perform high-quality music for all to hear and enjoy."
Jackie Crozier, festival Director of Manchester Pride said: "Manchester Pride Chamber Music is one of most exciting and long-running Fringe events, bringing people together through the love of music.
