Onions cry too

Onions cry too

NEW ATTITUDE THEATRE COMPANY's darkly comic drama 'ONIONS CRY TOO' at The Lowry Studio, Salford Quays to feature Arthur Bostrom.

Four elderly gentlemen are trapped in a care home, doors and windows locked with the tea trolley provisions diminishing by the day. What is the point of existing outside these four walls?

Under the sporadic and semi-conscious gaze of the mysterious Donald, God-fearing Alfred is stuck in the past, Bertie laments a lost love, and Charles is intent on destroying Slough.

Written by Jayne Marshall, developed through North West Playwrights, 'Onions Cry Too' is directed by Sue McGeorge.

Arthur Bostrom (Officer Crabtree from 'Allo 'Allo) plays Charles,
Eryl Lloyd Parry plays Alfred,
David Milne plays Bertie,
Bob Young plays Donald.

"Back in 2011 this play by the fabulous Jayne Marshall was one of four that joined our Re-draft course. The Director advised the writer that even though the play was fantastic, due to its unconventional subject matter, she might struggle to get a production. Now look at her go! Please check this out at the Lowry as the quality of the writing is amazing. And writers, let this be a tale of hope - believe in your work! Take the constructive criticism but stay true to your vision like our Jayne!"
