LIVERPOOL
Lesbian Book Group - A popular monthly lesbian book group meeting on the last Tuesday of every month at 8pm. Various venues. clairemawplsey@yahoo.co.uk. Group Organiser Ria, 50, Councillor How does the book group work? On average we choose one or two books and what we are doing now is the list in advance so if people want to go and get them out of the library they can do. It’s really nice because we do have debates and discussions about what we thinkHow many people are involved?Altogether I would imagine that there are 20 or 30 women in the book group but not all 30 of them come for each one which is great because it is quite diverseWhy do you like being involved in the group? What I get out of it is that I just love reading books. That’s my main thing and I love having discussions with the other women about different books. It’s a lesbian group really but it is open to bisexual women as well so we try as much as possible to look at books that are of lesbian content or books that are of interest to women.
