Miley launches brand new Transgender campaign

Miley Cyrus starts online transgender #instapride campaign

With more than 22m followers on Instagram, and almost 20m on Twitter, there is no doubt that Miley pops up on a lot of people's feeds.

As a result, her online campaign for "gender non-conforming" people is certainly going to get a lot of attention.

The initiative is a collaboration between her non-profit organisation Happy Hippie, which helps LGBT people, and Instagram, where the 22-year-old made the announcement.

The idea is to hear from as many transgender people as possible across the globe, as well as from those who support them in their lives.

Miley said recently... "I'm just equal," she says. "I'm just even. It has nothing to do with any parts of me or how I dress or how I look. It's literally just how I feel. People try to make everyone something. You can just be whatever you want to be."

The campaign uses the hashtag #instapride.
