Men kiss on the bus
Kissing men told to 'get off bus' by driver in London
Two men who were kissing on a London bus have said they were shouted at by the driver to get off. Jack James, 23, told Transport for London (TfL) that he and his partner were ordered off the number 89 near Blackheath after a "peck on the lips".
He told the Evening Standard the bus driver swore at them and shouted: "Oi, you two, don't do that... or you can get off."
TfL said the bus company that operates the route, Go Ahead, was investigating.
'My rules' - Mr James said: "When the bus stopped at our stop I walked up to the driver and politely asked the driver if he was talking to us. "His reply was: 'Yes, it's my bus, it is my rules, and I don't want to watch that. It's disgusting. Get off the bus'."
Ken Davidson, TfL's head of bus operations, said all customers had the right to use the service "without fear of being abused and offensive behaviour is completely unacceptable". He said: "We would like to reassure Mr James that this matter is being taken very seriously and that a thorough investigation is being conducted."
It added that it had recently "come into possession" of all the relevant information to identify the driver who would be spoken to in due course.
