Meet Ryan from Kiki

Meet Ryan from Kiki

After being in the village for just over three months the GM Ryan Fanthorpe reflects on the impact the street has made on him & his future plans.

Q.How long have you been involved with KIKI?

A. From the very beginning. We began planning the venture late last year and I feel very lucky to be part of such an amazing opportunity. The process was both exciting and fun, learning so much in such a small space of time.

Q.What has been your biggest challenge so far since working in Manchester?

A.There have been so many challenges myself and the team have had to face. I think when you open a new venue; especially taking over a place that was very well known, there will always be a stigma attached & people will be critical of your every move. I feel we have/ are working extremely hard to develop KIKI into a bar with a; great reputation, welcoming atmosphere and generally a fun place to spend your evening.

Q.Any changes the village should know about?

A.We will constantly be making changes as the months go on to make KIKI even more fabulous; from hosting great events to improving the décor.

Q.You have made a massive impact on the after hours sessions in the village with VOID, tell us more about that?

A.Based downstairs, we have started launching new nights, including POP CURIOUS? XTRA every Thursday, TWERK every Friday & AFTERHOURS every Saturday. All information can be found on: facebook.com/VOIDAFTERHOURS
I’m very excited for our GLOW PARTY on 1st March which will be amazing; I cant wait to see everyone dressed up in their UV, having a brilliant time until 10AM.

Q.Are you in a relationship yourself?

A.No. I would love to say that I finish work and go home to a candle lit dinner and a DVD with my love, but I’d be lying. I NEVER finish work.

Q.Which other venues do you enjoy in the Village?

A.I really love Aftershock; Nik Denton has a brilliant brand and is extremely passionate about what he does and it shows in the night. Also I popped into see Steph at Vanilla the other night and discovered what a brilliant venue it was.For lunch or cocktails it has to be Taurus..
