LGBT Question Time 2015

Have your say at LGBT Question Time 2015!

16 January 2015 – To mark Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) History Month this February, Manchester City Council with support from The Lesbian & Gay Foundation (The LGF), are hosting LGBT Question Time for its third consecutive year.

Everyone from the community is welcome to attend and ask their own questions to a panel of experts including Manchester City Council, LGBT groups and organisations including The LGF, elected members and service providers from across Manchester.

The event will be chaired by Gaydio presenter Emma Goswell, who will be joined by panellists: Councillor Bev Craig, Lead member for LGBT women's issue; The LGF’s Chief Executive Paul Martin OBE; Jim Battle, Deputy Police & Crime Commissioner; Paul McGarry, Age Friendly Lead, Manchester City Council. More panellists will be announced soon.

Questions last year ranged from LGBT services and health to community safety and crime so questions from a wide variety of areas are welcome. As well as people being able to put forward specific questions prior to the event, we will also be welcoming questions from the audience on the day.

Councillor Bev Craig, Lead member for LGBT women's issues, said: "This is a great opportunity to have your voice heard and to get involved with issues that matter to you. Or maybe you feel that certain issues need to be made more visible? Whatever you’re query or question – we want to hear from you!”

We want to help ensure that LGBT voices are heard and that the needs of our communities are met so that any current issues are recognised and addressed by organisations across the North West.

Outcomes from this discussion with the LGBT community feed into the Council’s business planning to help improve the way they deliver and target their services and policy development.

The event is free to attend and breakfast butties with refreshments will be provided for all attendees. We’ll also be live tweeting from the event so you can follow all the action @lgfoundation<http://lgf.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=58079649ef2d9c9d7fcfa985b&id=2bddfe5ba6&e=f8b153a188> using #MCCQT2015
