LGBT Foundation prepare for Pride

For LGBT Foundation August Bank Holiday will be our first Manchester Pride since we changed our name and we are excited to open up our building over the Big Weekend as a safe community space in the heart of the village.

We're Here If You Need Us We have lots of FREE events happening if you want to take some time off from all the Pride activity. Our Community Café will be open over the Big Weekend from 11am Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Our Pride events include an LGBT Tea Dance, a film screening of ‘Pride’ , Relaxation therapies, Pop-in support, Buddying Space, LGBT Heritage Project and a cultural showcase. We will also be offering a Trans Changing Space too.

Village Angels will be ensuring everyone can stay safe and staff and volunteers will be around the site with resources, safer sex packs and support.

New this year is a mental health resource for lesbian and bisexual women and safer sex packs for gay and bisexual men to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the scheme.

We have seen an increase in those wanting to talk in a confidential space over Pride weekend so we will be providing this service again this year. Our Helpline celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and will be available throughout the weekend.
