Ladyrock Festival - Announce Media partners
LadyRock Festival – the North West’s first ever ‘female festival’ – has this week announced its first three media partners: VIVA Manchester and Cheshire, Lesbilicious and Gay Star News.
VIVA Manchester and Cheshire is the North West’s premiere glossy magazine, distributed throughout high end stores and independent boutiques across the region. The brand evokes femininity, confidence and is present at Manchester’s biggest and best events. Their past covers stars have include Pamela Anderson, Mark Ronson and The Saturdays.
Emma Wilkinson, Editor in Chief of VIVA said: “This is a project we are proud to be associated. Us VIVA girls love to rock – and where better to do so than in a field at the start of summer, cider in one hand, a best friend in another whilst watching some truly fantastic female talent? We are proud to represent Manchester and what this city is all about, which is why we are honorary LadyRockers and can’t wait for May 26”.
Lesbilicious is one of the web’s hottest sites for up-to-date news and gossip for women. They make a great partnership with LadyRock – despite it not being an exclusively ‘gay’ or ‘straight’ festival – for their dedication to all things female.
Writer and Director Georgia Rooney said: “"Lesbilicious is delighted to support LadyRock Festival. Music and comedy tend to be very male-dominated, but it’s not because there are no great female musicians or comedians - it’s because those musicians and comedians don’t get given a fair chance to get heard. It’s great that festivals like LadyRock are giving more exposure to female music and comedy, and we look forward to a brilliant weekend."
Gay Star News, the third media partner, is the global platform for LGBT news 24/7 online. Co-founder Tris Reid-Smith said: “We love music, love comedy and love Manchester at Gay Star News, so we're really pleased to be working with LadyRock Festival. We're already picking out our best jeans and t-shirts and looking forward to a day of chilling in the sun!”
Tickets for LadyRock go on sale in just a matter of weeks (March 1) and already the festival has begun to make noise in both online and print press. With the fully functioning website soon to go live, and the hotly anticipated line-up beginning to form, March will undoubtedly be a busy month for LadyRock HQ.
Founder and Director Jackie Crozier, who has just finished her four year reign as Manchester Pride’s Festival Director said: “I couldn’t be more pleased. The reception we have been getting from press, publics and performers alike has been fantastic. We are only just beginning with this venture – I have no doubt that the coming months will be excited for all the rockers on board with LadyRock Festival 2012”
Tickets for LadyRock Festival 2012 will be on sale from 1 March. For more information on LadyRock Festival please see: www.ladyrockfestival.com.
