Homophobia? Your responses

Following the open letter last week,we have a small selection of your responses to what happened..Thanks to all you who commmented and lets hope this incident is resolved and not repeated?

@canalstmancs This homophobia has to be tackled head on. If a prompt and appropriate response isn't forthcoming then I see a boycott coming.

 @canalstmancs actually it is homophobia under UK law, the mitigation re: 'other couple' is irrelevant in the legal assessment.

Me and my husband have recently discovered the northern quarter and been going  a lot we even spent valentines there  so we were more then a little cuddly exp nothing bad in there from any staff are clientele. in fact at 1 point in blue pig on a saturday we were sat there surrounded by gays could have been in the village

we have not been to Bluu Bar sept  in the day time so some  door staff there may have problems but rest or northern quarter seems ok to us
i hope this is a isolated issue

VBA Statement re: Homophobic Incident in Manchester City Centre
The VBA is shocked to learn of an alleged homophobic incident which took place recently in a licensed premises in Manchester city centre involving two gay males.
As the alleged incident took place outside of the Village area, this highlights more than ever, the importance for places like Manchester’s Gay Village to exist and continue to lead the way in providing a space which LGBT people can enjoy freely and without prejudice.
The VBA is aware that GMP is looking into the alleged incident and would urge anyone with information to contact GMP directly.
