Heather Peace answers our questions
Q.Heather we havent seen you on our screens recently?Do you anything new in the pipeline?
H. I have a small role in a new film due to be released called "Never Let go" but mainly I've been enjoying time at home writing. Constantly writing. It's very tricky trying to balance the two jobs as TV stuff goes into production usually in the Springtime and i wanted to do these dates in Spring, to try something new outside of the sound of there album. It's really helpful as an artist to keep changing the dynamics of the musicians on stage. It keeps the music growing and changing. That’s why we’ve chosen mainly to play churches this time – they’re perfect for the sound i envisaged on this tour.
Q.Will the current tour have any new music that we havent heard before?
H. Yes. I'm going to showcase a few new songs that are finished. It's so good to play new stuff live over a few dates as you're still discovering them vocally and playing them live makes the vocal develop so that by the time you go into studio to record them the vocal is then sitting comfortably. It's always nerve-wracking though.
Q.You seem to be playing some more intimate venues that previously. Why is that?
H. It wasn’t actually about them being more intimate, I just wanted to play in as many churches as possible! The acoustics will be awesome. I picked the Brighon (well, Hove actually) venue, for example, because an artist i love at the moment, Agnes Obel, played there a couple of months ago. If it's good enough for Agnes....
I’m excited about the church in Salford, apparently it’s very beautiful!
Q.Have you ever played in a church before?
H. Have i ever played in a church? I was brought up a Catholic! I soloed in church week in week out, every week, relentlessly! Ha ha....
Seriously though, as a solo artist now, one of my favourite venues we've ever played is The Union Chapel in London. It's because of the acoustics. As a singer it gives you so much room on the microphone because you're helped by the space of the room. Gorgeous. It's so funny how the audience change too, they go very quiet and well behaved like they are back in assembly at school or something. I've been to see one of my favourite jazz acts, Tuck & Patti, at The Union Chapel and it was the most wonderful listening experience ever.

A recent audience reviewer said recently..
'Heather Peace was absolutely awesome...she sounds amazing live and you could tell she was actually singing and playing. Her backing group also did a great job with some very complimentary backing vocals'..
