Grrrl Meets Boi

Grrrl Meets Boi

On 26th February the Lesbian Community Project, Manchester will present Grrrl Meets Boi: A love story between Lesburlesque and the Drag Kings of Manchester

This event is a collaboration between two groups (both can be found on Facebook), each representing the decades-old art forms of drag, and burlesque.

...Beginning at 12.45pm at Chorlton Library, you will have the opportunity to spend the day in a series of fun workshops, receiving tips from working Drag Kings on how to create your King persona. Workshops will cover issues such as bearding, binding, and mastering the male stance and mannerisms. Lunch will also be provided, including veggie options.

The evening's event, beginning at 8.30pm, will see us being charmed by cabaret style entertainment from the Kings who will be accompanied by a whole host of burlesque grrrls. This event will be held at the Lesbian Community Project on Sidney Street, Manchester.

Sponsored by a number of local and national businesses, you will have a chance to pick up some fabulous freebies, and there will be a Raffle for some fantastic prizes in the evening!

Grrrl Meets Boi is guaranteed to be a humorous, fun-filled, gender-bending, flirtatious, outrageous explosion of talent. This is an event not to be missed. Places on the workshops are free but limited, so book yours quick!

For more information and to book a free place on the workshops or your tickets for the evening (£5 or £3 concession/unwaged), please call Kerry or Tracey on 0161 273 7128 or email enquiries@lesbiancommunityproject.co.uk.
