Growing older - Stonewall research

Growing older can be a liberating but sometimes scary experience. Our research shows that older lesbian, gay and bisexual people face unique concerns as they ageGetting older can be a challenging time for many of us, thinking about what to have in place to support us and our loved ones is often something we put off until it is too late.

For the hundreds of thousands of older lesbian, gay and bisexual people getting older can be more complex still. Stonewall’s research into the experiences of older lesbian, gay and bisexual people found that many experience isolation, growing old without friends or family, and are quite rightly concerned about later life and how to plan for it.
