Great news for Gaydio

Great news for Gaydio

We are pleased to confirm that Gaydio will be taking over the operation of DAB radio licences from GaydarRadio with effect from 7am on 7th January 2013. The new service will be known as Gaydio and will broadcast across London and Brighton on DAB, on 88.4FM across Manchester, online at gaydio.co.uk and via apps on the Android and iOS platforms. The service will also be available through the Gaydar and Gaydargirls websites.

Toby Whitehouse, Station Director and co-founder of Gaydio says “This is great news for the UK’s LGBT community, as this will create a unified and stronger programming opportunity on the FM,DAB and online broadcasting platforms. Gaydio and Gaydar Radio have shared many similarities in terms of the programming mix and our dedication to promoting LGB&T causes.”

Together the new service will be the biggest LGB&T radio station in the world, with a monthly audience of over 800,000 people.
Both Gaydar and Gaydargirls websites will continue to operate as normal with and while Gaydio will operate independently, the Gaydar brands will retain a strong relationship with the radio service.
