GMP report crime reduction for Village

A successful Bike Marking event took place at Manchester College on 24th January and we're looking into additional dates later in the year! We're also continuing our work addressing Anti-Social behaviour on the Canal Towpath and have agreed on lighting improvements with the 'Friends of Sackville Gardens' group to help reduce crime there.

We've had some significant reductions in Village-based crime for January with Robberies down by almost half and a 45% drop in 'Theft from Person(dipping) & Miscellaneous Theft' offences compared with January 2011. While these are good results and mean fewer victims of crime, we are continuing to ask patrons enjoying the Bars & Clubs of the night-time economy to keep an eye out for 'Hugger Muggers'.

The Village Team continues to hold the Weekly Drop-In Surgery, 6pm to 8pm every Thursday at 5 Richmond Street, MANCHESTER. The surgery is open to everyone.
