Gay Married Men

A support group for gay married men or gay men living in a straight relationship is to start meeting at Taurus in April.  The Married Mens Group is for men who are, or who have been in relationships with women and who also have sexual feelings for other men.  It was formed some years ago and was run by the LGF until recent changes within the organisation meant that they were no longer able to support it.  The members of the group felt that they obtained so much support from it that they have decided to continue the group outside of the LGF.
 
If you are in a relationship with a woman and find yourself attracted to another man, the feelings of guilt, confusion and self-doubt can be overwhelming. The biggest lesson to learn is that the situation is not new and you are certainly not the only man to find himself in this situation.
 
The group provides an open, relaxed, friendly and highly confidential space that allows men to explore and talk openly and frankly about their feelings and experiences, without being judged.  All members of the group are either in, or have previously been in relationships with women so can understand and offer mutual support to other men in the same situation. Often hearing about somebody else's experiences can give you great strength and this is the success of the group.  It also gives you the opportunity to be yourself for a few hours.
