Celebrity interviews
CLARY, ALMOND, AMAECHI AND McDERMID
Listen to this week’s star-studded Gay Hour from the BBC
The Gay Hour (Citizen Manchester LGBT) is the ONLY regular LGBT current affairs magazine programme on the BBC.
And this week presenter Ashley Byrne and co-hosts Andrew Edwards and singer songwriter Claire Mooney looked back at some of their favourite interviews from 2010.
We hear Camp comic Julian Clary on how the word ‘mince’ always manages to get in on his act, singer Marc Almond waxes lyrical about how language around sexuality has changed over the years, TV crime writer and novelist Val McDermid talks about the significance of lesbian characters in her writing and former basketball player John Amaechi tells the team why he thinks in-the-closet sports stars shouldn’t be forced to reveal their sexuality.
There’s music from the Wombats, Marc Almond and Claire Mooney. This week’s programme is the last of 2010. The show will return at 9pm on Monday, 10th January 2011.
