Canalsiders taster for Pride Sports

Canalsiders Chasing A Home Win.

Next Saturday 31st May see's Manchester Canalsiders take on Burnely & Pendle at Belle Vue. Martin Owens (Chair/Coach & Player) says Although the team have played 3 matches this season so far they have all been away fixtures, this will be our 1st Home Fixture in the North West Mens Merit League. Belle Vue has been our home since we started training and we are looking forward to playing at home.

 Why not come along and support not only Manchester's & the UK's 1st LGBT Rugby League Team but the worlds 1st LGBT Rugby League Team. It would be great to see as many of our supporters there cheering us on.

Not only will we be playing but, 2 clubs who have supported Canalsiders from day 1 will be kicking off at 1430hrs EastManchester Rangers RL v Rochdale Cobras A.R.L.F.C so East Manchester will see a double header of rugby league for the first time.

12th June Canalsiders v Combined Police Rugby League Home Kick Off 1930hrs

14th June Buxton v Canalsiders Away Kick Off 1430hrs

21st June Chester Gladiators A v Canalsiders Away Kick Off 1430hrs

As well as training for full contact the Mens XIII and our Ladies XIII are also playing Touch Rugby at the Salford Red Devils Foundation Touch RL and on the 4th June Canalsiders will be launching their own Play Touch Rugby League an event part of Pride Games 2014 with a taster session being held at the Tennis & Football Centre at the Etihad Stadium.

Owens said "It is extremely exciting times here in Manchester not only for our Club but for Rugby League in Manchester with Magic weekend held here last week we are hoping Rugby League will continue to grow."

 Manchester Canalsiders Play Touch Rugby League sessions will start on the 15th June 2014, prior to this we will be holding a Taster Session inconjunction with Pride Games 2014 on Wednesday 14th June at 7pm. This is a great oppurtunity to have a go and see what the buzz is about in this great sport. 

 Touch Rugby League allows you to play rugby with out the full contact and is a great way to get fit as it burns more calories in 40 mins than being in the gym and a lot more exciting, it is also agreat way to socialise and make new friends. Registration is open to Teams & Individuals so why not got a few friends or work colleagues togethor and come down and give it a go.
