Bed at Tribeca hosts Beaver and Ruby Tuesdays

Dulcet Sounds' Beaver club night in September is at Bed in Tribeca and sees the club meet Ruby Tuesdays with a spectacular set from Sandra Davenport.

Davenport started Ruby Tuesdays in London over 7 years ago. "We took a risk in creating a girls' night on a Tuesday but it's still a great success every week," she notes. "The drinks deals and flowing tequila help a lot but it's also about being fun and I hope you agree. The whole point of Ruby is that it's not up itself, but a place where every girl feels welcome."

Beaver is a women-centered club experience welcoming all LGBTI persons and their feminist friends. There are guilty pleasures to be had all night from an all female line up of DJs including Dulcet Sounds' DJ Hazel (Rapture Club Night / Lfest / Antwerp Mansion). They will build the night up serving up a melting pot of guilty pleasures soul, hip hop, R'n'B, funk, disco, deep house, reggae, indie, rock, pop and plenty of goodies that don’t fit into any category.

DJ Hazel O'Keefe is an experienced event manager with over 18 years of experience. In addition to club nights she runs two comedy clubs, Laughing Cows and Comix Live. She is a member of the National Association of DJs and DJ Mark, Gold award holder and was a finalist for Manchester City Council International Women's Day Awards 2014 for contributions to Culture and the Arts.

As well as tailoring the night to the crowd, Beaver also operates an inclusive policy welcoming all regardless of gender or sexuality. The result is one of the most exuberant and fun atmospheres around.

So who exactly comes to Club Beaver? Well the organisers say...

The feminists, the lesbians, the bisexuals, the proud queers, the trans folk, the intersex, the drag kings, the bois, the activists, the newcomers, the latecomers, the L-Festers, the friends of lesbians, the straight queers, the guilty pleasure seekers, those that lived it for real decades ago, the lipstick lesbians, the considered to be older lesbians, the lesbian mums, the gay dads, the super-butch, the 'too femme to be gay', the confused, the bikers and hikers, the lentil eaters, the artists, the creatives, the collectives... it's whatever you make it... be whoever you want to be.

Beaver Club Night meets Ruby Tuesdays – Saturday 12th September. Bed at Tribeca, 50 Sackville Street, Manchester M1 3WF. Live entertainment from 8pm, DJs 10pm - 2pm. £5 (no booking fee – limited number available). Call 07958 642090 for further information.
