Bear Bash 2015

GREAT BRITISH BEAR BASH 18 – 30 APR – 4 MAY 2014

The Great British Bear Bash (GBBB) turns 18 next month and so it’s time for the Bears to come of age!   The Manbears Team have been working furiously to bring together what they believe to be the best (in terms of both events and value for money) yet!

1998 saw the birth of the event born from the old PAWS group that used to meet in the basement of Napoleons and they ran this along with its sister event Pre-HiBEARnation until 2003 when Manbears took over the mantle.

This year a multitude of bars have offered time and space and here are just a few of the highlights:

THURSDAY 30th APRIL

With Early Bird registration at The Eagle where you can pick up your registration packs, meet the team and have a laid back beer before all the madness. I’m sure Nick and his staff will have their nuts on the bar if you fancy a nibble. Then its on to the first event, Beareoke as The Rem Bar hosts the international phenomenon and newest Manbear, Andrew Clarke. After you’ve all all finished making shows of yourselves at The Rem it’s back to the Eagle for some banging house.

FRIDAY 1ST MAY

Registration in The Rem Bar from 2pm-5pm and then from 5pm – 10pm in The Eagle. Then we are all going to sample the delights of Canal Street with Aaron’s Big Bear pub crawl, finishing at The Rem for the Big Scrum-Pre cum. Then it’s the Big Scrum itself, which truly is an amazing club night not to be missed. After that it’s back off the Eagle for the after party where DJ Rick Parker will be mixing the choons until the wee small hours.

SATURDAY 2nd MAY

Open eyes, and drink plenty of coffee because there’s have a busy day planned! Wake-up with a delicious breakfast roll at The Rem Bar (which are free for registration pack holders), while the team set up the bear market in The Eagle. They’ve have brought together the best furry retailers from the North West to sell you those bear essentials. From 12 noon until 5pm its Bear Sauna at The Basement. If you want to chill in the afternoon the fabulous Sister Jacqui Moff presenting Porno Bingo in Sackville Lounge. For those who like it wet ‘n’ wild, you could always opt for the Pool Party at Moss Side Leisure Centre. If you like the glamour part of the weekend then the team are giving you some time to make yourselves look beautiful in preparation for the MasqueBEARade ball at Club Backdoor club hosted by the one and only Andrew Clarke. If you are still standing after all that, then have a night cap with the guys over at The Eagle.

SUNDAY 3rd MAY

It’s going to be another busy day so treat yourself to either a carvery at Sackville Lounge, some of the delicious fayer on offer at Taurus Bar & Kitchen (25% off for Registration Pack Holders) or the BBQ at New York New York. Then off you go to The Eagle for Manbears does Sunday Service all in aid of the George House Trust who are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. Hosted by Danny Beard and with special guest appearance from the Andrew Rydall and Andrew Morris along with award winning top London cabaret star Myra Dubois, who may well be in true ‘Thatcheresque’ pre-election mode!  The Manbears team are really looking forward to this and they promise us that your Sunday afternoon will be the same again.

The fun just keeps coming as over at the Rem Bar the team bring you the second instalment of Beareoke with Andrew to get you in the mood for the Club Night at Alter Ego.

After blowing everyone away last year, back by popular demand is DJ DanLisa (AXM/i-Candy) to keep the crowd entertained until the small hours and then it’s back to The Eagle for post club drinks once again with DJ Rick Parker spinning the tunes.

MONDAY 4th MAY

May the fourth be with you as it’s time to say goodbye to GBBB18 with a farewell drink at The Rem Bar or maybe a pizza with your favourite Bear Buddy!!
