Bar Pop hosts Up the Bunting for GM Fringe
Ex-Brookside actor Stephen Donald is bringing his self penned play ‘Up The Bunting!’ to The GMF.
Stephen who may be remembered as Carl Banks has extended the play which enjoyed a sell out run and a four star review at Bar Pop theatre on Canal Street last September. The ‘two-hander’ centres around the curious goings on at the local village fete and is produced in association with previous GMF performers ‘The Lipstick Thespians.’
The ‘Lipsticks’ are duo Hayley Cartwright (known for ‘Magic Hands Cbeebies’ and ‘Coronation Street’) and Alexis Tuttle who had success with ‘Minge on The Fringe’ at the 2016 GMF
Hayley returns in her role as the eccentric reiki healer Lisa and Alexis will once again take the reins as director.
Stephen returns as Colin, a rather odd but likeable character who is obsessed with bric-a brac.
Stephen, who can be seen playing assassin ‘Poison Pete’ in the recent Feature Film ‘Accident Man’ explains that ‘Up The Bunting’ is a laugh out loud comedy but with some tender moments.
