Another Regional Pride success

Calderdale Pride date for 2012 officially announced.
 
Calderdale’s annual Pride festival will be held on Saturday 16th June 2012 at the Halifax Piece Hall, it has been revealed.
 
Steven Outhwaite, Pride Chair said:  “Everyone who came along to Calderdale Pride 2011 with X Factor’s Diva Fever will know what a fantastic day it was, and how much the Piece Hall came to life”.
 
“We want Calderdale Pride to be as good if not better in 2012, and we’re working extremely hard to ensure the event builds on 2011’s successes”.
 
“Following the event we had an extremely positive response all round.  On top of this, we were absolutely delighted to have won Halifax Courier’s Best New Charity 2011”.
 
“Calderdale Pride 2011 had a really inclusive feel and attracted more than 9,000 people of all sexual orientations, genders and backgrounds to the Halifax Piece Hall for a fantastic day out”.
 
Calderdale Pride have already applied to local groups for financial support, but also need help from local businesses.
 
“We would appeal to individuals, groups, businesses and organisations to lend their support, be it a cash donation, advertising, or support in kind through the loan of staff time, competition prizes or other resources”.
 
“We have some really exciting and creative plans in the pipeline for 2012, and we are fully on course to deliver on these and to provide a top quality festival celebrating equality and diversity” said Steven.
