5th Birthday for Off the Hook
AWARD-WINNING GAY RNB PARTY RETURNS TO THE VILLAGE
Off The Hook Fifth Birthday Party at Back Door Club, Canal Street, Saturday 14th August
Since 2010, Off The Hook has been the hippest underground RnB party in town. The night was started back in the day by Anthony Crank, Rob Devlin and Amber Swallows, in a long-vanished basement Village venue named Kitsch, playing RnB, Hip-Hop and Bashment to a cool and friendly crowd of RnB fans and drag queens.
After a hiatus, the night was revived by resident DJ and club promoter Greg Thorpe (also co-founder of Drunk At Vogue), and shortly after won the City Life Award for ‘Best Gay Night’.
This year Off The Hook turns FIVE YEARS OLD and they are celebrating with a return to the Village after several years in the Northern Quarter with a classic playlist party at the Back Door Club on Canal Street, underneath Bar Pop.
Expect to see some beautiful clubbers getting down to the likes of Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Whitney Houston, De La Soul, Neneh Cherry, Run DMC, Missy Elliot, Rhianna, Lil Kim, Eve, Mya, Janelle Monae, TLC and loads of your favourite RnB and soulful pop gems from the 80s, 90s, noughties and now.
