Canal-St.co.uk

Not quite a review on take-out food on the Canal-St strip.  Nosheel Rahi checks out the restaurants in the Manchester area and gives you a different angle on what is about.  None of the restaurants featured knew they were being reviewed.  Although the lure of free food and booze beckoned Nosheel resisted - this is a genuine 'customer' experience.  Personally, I can be bought and given the opportunity would be 'reviewing' every day of the week......

If you would like us to review a venue email Nosheel at nosheel@globalsphere.co.uk.  Please note - as with all 'Hot' features - we give an honest view, not one that is politically correct or expedient!

Hot Food!

Fifty 7
13th March 2008

Nosh discovers Fifty 7 - well recommended and a roastie to die for cooked by capable (and friendly) chef Phil.

Give it a go - it is well worth it.

Gastro's
16th January 2008

A new year, a new venue and a new format. Certainly this is the case for Gastro’s slightly belated (full) arrival a couple of weeks ago, taking the place of the eventually pitiful Gaia, just a stone throw from Canal Street.

Nosheel reviews Gastro's - venue of the forthcoming Challenge Mulanje charity night - Gourmet@Gastro's.

City Cafe @ The City Inn
9th October 2007

Following success in London, Birmingham, Bristol and Glasgow, City Inn brings it brand of ‘contemporary hotels’ to Manchester....

Check out Nosheel's view!

Luso - Faultless Portuguese
17th August 2007

This month Nosheel checks out Luso on Bridge St.

"Located just off the hustle and bustle of an over-saturated Deansgate, Luso is tucked nicely onto Bridge Street. Inside the lighting and furniture blends rustic and minimal touches all done tastefully...

....Having changed my mind at least six times main course wise, I settled on the rump of lamb providing I could try my friends’ saddle and leg of rabbit. The lamb was deliciously pink, moist and generous cooked with honey, garlic and best of all lavender."

Linen Manchester

Linen at Manchester235 casino. Cocktails, fine wine and fine dining.  This restaurant got brownie points even before the starter arrived. Find out why in Nosheel's review!

Ning - Northern Quarter

Ning the newcomer nearly has it all: the excellent food, choice, offers/prices, eccentric setting and friendly staff....

To say the service was relaxed is like saying Cher has had ‘some work’ done.

Check out Nosheel's experience at this chinese eaterie!
