Heather Peace

Band on the Wall  Saturday 26th May 2012 13.30pm

Canal Street had the absolute pleasure to catch up with the muli-talented Heather Peace on Saturday afternoon. Fans in the North West had planned to share her songs at the LadyRock Festival but unfortunately the Festival was cancelled.

Her commitment to disappointed fans in the North West was never in doubt the second she booked the Band on the Wall at such short notice.

Canal Street and the North West have been buzzing with excitement since the announcement was made to play to fans at an afternoon session and on the same date as the LadyRock Festival. This commitment to her fans is really a reflection of the excellent and special relationship she has already built with her massive fan base.

After her performance at Pride Manchester 2011 fans have travelled to gigs all over the UK and Canal Street and the North West were honoured she could share her labour of love with us.

Waiting in anticipation fans could not have imagined what a brilliant performance Heather Peace was about to share with us. She walked on stage as the accomplished singer/songwriter she is. Gone was the actress and the characters she is so famous for playing. In front of the lucky crowd a very talented and powerful singer - sharing the experiences of her own life through lyrics performed with such heart felt passion.

The heart wrenching song and Heather's first single 'Better than You' was performed straight from her heart and soul and left the fans in no doubt about the ruin of broken hearts.

"I'll find better than you
even thought I'm broken now
I'll find better than you"

The fans were totally captivated for the whole performance as she displayed her skills as a professionally trained pianist and self taught guitar player. Vocally her performance was stunning full of emotion, passion and love.

So what did fans experience from Ms Peace's performance " I feel totally privileged to have seen her performance at the Band on the Wall. "She made such an effort to be here and to keep her commitment to Manchester". "Heather is so modest and funny and I was really surprised at how powerful her voice is in real life". I feel exhausted as some of the songs were very heart wrenching but I could relate to the heartbreak" "She used humour to break up all the heartache she has obviously been through". "Fight For and Sabotage were fantastic".

I know I experienced the condition of pure happiness and as G.K Chesterton once said:

“If you happen to read fairy tales, you will observe that one idea runs from one end of them to the other - the idea that peace and happiness can only exist on some condition".
