Annie

Annie

Last night at the Palace Theatre, saw a revival of the Classic ANNIE starring the esrstwhile Sue Pollard as Miss Hannigan.

A packed Theatre, mainly with Mums and Dads and their 'enthusiastic' children, many of whom who dressed for the occasion, were treated to one of the great theatre scores including,"Your never fully dressed without a smile","its a hard knock life" and the anthemic,"Tomorrow".

Sue Pollard was,as ever, suitably strong as Hannigan, demonstrating her comedic talents aswell as the great singing voice that she is less known for. Other notable performance came from Phlip Andrew as Rooster with his partner in crimeKerry George as Lily, and of course Sandy the dog, which provided the awww factor along with the ensemble of cute orphans.

The strength of proceedings thankfully disguised the unfortunate drainage smell in the theatre, which was explained as an external problem. Completely out of control of the theatre itself. Annie remains one of the great, fun nights out for any family, with a smattering of LGBTers.

It runs at the Palace Theatre until this Saturday 12th November. For more information, please click here...
