Marc Almond - The Velvet Trail

Marc Almond - The Velvet Trail

Marc Almond - The Velvet Trail.

After a steady output of records over 30 years, Marc Almond in 2010 was seriously thinking about giving up making music for good. So it's great news for us that Chris Braide came along and got his creative juices flowing again, they embarked on making this record without ever meeting until it was finished.

The Velvet Trail is a glorious record from start to finish. It's poppy and it's pompous (It's a 12 track album in 3 acts) and you have to listen to it all, because it flows like great albums do. The duet with Beth Ditto is a real treat and Scar is a keeper, a proper heart break tune. In a sea of dull young boys with too much hair and no experiences to sing about, thank god we still have Marc Almond.

To see Marc live.

Marc would like to announce:
'It is with a tinge of sadness that The Velvet Trail tour is to be my last major solo British and European tour."
